Information about Spring Registration

Parents,

We are a few days away from opening the online registration for Little League baseball.

Here are the important dates for the Spring season.

Managers Meeting: 1/10 Paterson 9AM

Onsite Registrations at Eagle Harbor Golf Club: 1/17, 1/24, 1/31
Team Practices: 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28
TBall and Machine Pitch Games: 2/28 - 5/16
Minor and Major Games: 3/7 - 5/16

Clay School break is April 6th - 10th. Easter is Aprils 12th.
We will have optional practice on 4/4 and 4/11 weekends.

Opening Day Festivities will be on 3/7.
Pictures will be done the first 2 weeks of the season.

Player Evaluations for Minors and Majors will be done on 2/7. This will for new players only.

We will play all Saturdays except 4/4 and 4/11. We usually schedule 1 weekday game on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday but you might have a week with 2 or on Wednesday or Friday if needed.

TBall and MP uniforms are ready and the managers will be making arrangements to get them to you.

TBall and Machine Pitch teams stay tuned for picture schedules on 9/27.

First Practice 9/13

In order to help with the logistics of getting started we will have each league have practice at the same time. Please bring your equipment and be ready to practice.

EVALUATIONS have been CANCELLED due to small numbers needing evaluation.

Practice times for Saturday

• 10am All 5 TBall teams
• 11:30 All 3 Majors
• 1PM All 5 Minors
• 2:30PM All 4 MP

If anyone has not paid we will accept payment on Saturday.
You will get your manager and teams rosters tomorrow, 9/14, via an email.

Fall Registratioin is Complete - Almost

We had another record registration. We currently have 178 players and counting. We are still taking registrations but it will be closing very soon. We are looking for more players in the Major division to fill out the teams.

This is our hisghest amount of players for our Fall season.

Look for a phone call or email by Thursday night.

An email will be sent to all players that need to arrive at an evaluation Saturday at Paterson Elementary at 9AM. You will be assigned a team immedately after evaluations and may have a practice on Saturday as well.

Online Registration is Open

If you wish to volunteer please enter your player information and your volunteer information.

We do not offer credit cards, you will need to send a check to the address on the form. We don't have a collections and dunning system so please pay soon after registering.

We offer 3 onsite registrations as well. Please see 2008 Registration post for place and times.

We will be having registrations on the following dates:

August 23rd 10-12
August 30th 9-12
Sept 6th 9-12

Online opens August 16th

All registrations will be at Eagle Harbor Golf Club

Registrations are open for boys and girls between 5 and 12. Younger player must be 5 by 9/30/2008 and older players must have been 12 on 4/30/2008.

Baseball Sports Complex Meeting 5/29 YMCA 8pm

We will be having a meeting to discuss the new sports complex and what we need when it comes to fields. FILL is partnering with FIAA and Clay County LaCrosse as we plan the Sports Complex.

Time and place: YMCA 8pm

Managers: Equipment Return

Managers please return equipment tonight 5/22 at Paterson or next Tuesday 5/27. A game will be going on each night and I will be present.

All Star Meeting Tuesday 5/27 7:45 at Paterson

If you are interested with All Stars please come by for an informal meeting to go over questions and details.

We will likely field a 11-12 team this year. But 9 and 10 years can play if we get enough interest.

Fall 2008 Season will begin registrations late August

Just remember that we start each season when the school year starts and after the holiday break and you are all set.

Friday Night Instruction Time

A Coach of our league has generously offered to run a practice in a Baseball Clinic format. Every Friday evening, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, on the Paterson Major field. This clinic is for any Flemming Island Little League player ages 10 - 12. This a non-team affiliated clinic that covers fundamentals and specifics that will build up the players skills. If you are interested in getting more skilled training with pitching or catching and so on this could be very worthwhile. The clinc will try to go beyond the batting practice and in field drills of the average practice. For more information, please call John Buzzy at 237-1476 or just come and check us out.

OPENING DAY TIMES and EVENTS


10:30 Games Start - we will have a few games to play as we eat and get ready for the ceremonies. We have some prizes for different age groups.


11:00 Hot Dogs and Drinks for sale.


12:00 Ceremonies start, all teams should be present.


9 - 2 Pictures will be taken. Each team has a designated time. An email went out with times.


Games at 1 and 3.

We will be selling $5 raffle tickets to win a 2008 Chevy Tahoe. Please plan on buying some raffle tickets.


The original March 15th games will be rescheduled soon.

Major and Minor Player Evaluation Time

Player Evaluations are for only players in Minors and Majors. If you are in TBall or Machine Pitch you do not show up at all.

When: Saturday Feb 2nd

Place: Paterson Elementary

Directions: Take 220 East to Pine, Make Right and Paterson is on right. We always use the south gate.



9am - Minor Leagues

10:30am - Major Leagues

If you have a BBall game we can get you thru quick. Also if you can't make it we will work out the exceptions after Saturday.



All Major and Minor Managers and Coaches need to be present.
